Land for industries will be provided either by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board KIADB or by Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation KSSIDC

Karnataka Udyoga Mitra KUM will help entrepreneurs to short list and decide the location depending on the products and other parameters.

 
Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board [KIADB]
 
KIADB is a statutory agency established by the government for acquiring land for industrial projects and to develop industrial areas. KIADB is engaged in acquiring, developing and allotting industrial areas with comprehensive infrastructures. These areas are of ready to occupy in nature and facilitate investors to start their ventures without any loss of time.

KIADB has also developed 3 growth centres at Dharwad, Hassan and Raichur. Vast extents of land have been acquired and developed in these growth centres with necessary infrastructure. A full pledged Export Promotion Industrial Park [EPIP] was developed by KIADB in Bengaluru and another EPIP is at Mangalore. KIADB is also developing a Special Economic Zones [SEZ] at Hassan and Mangalore.

KIADB is proposing to establish 6 (Six) Food and Agro Technology Parks at Bagalkot, Belgaum, Chitradurga, Jewargi, Maddur and Malur for housing food and agro industries. There are plans to set up Apparel Park at Belgaum and Bellary.

 
Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation [KSSIDC]
 
KSSIDC is another organisation of the Government engaged in providing readymade industrial sheds for the ready use of investors. KSSIDC (then Mysore Small Industries Corporation) is rendering services to the small sector in the State for more than 40 years.

The Corporation started with the following as its Main Services:

  1. Establishment and Management of Industrial Estates.
  2. Procurement and distribution of raw materials.
  3. Assistance towards marketing.
  4. Dissemination of information by participating in the internal and international exhibitions.
  5. Supply of machinery under Hire Purchase Scheme.
  6. Providing Guidance to SSI Entrepreneurs.
  7. Providing Technical Library facilities.
Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited KEONICS
 
KEONICS was started in the year 1976 with the objective of promoting electronics industries in Karnataka. Acquired 332 acres of land on Hosur Road about 18 Kms from city limits of Bengaluru and developed an electronic industrial complex (Electronics City).

The investors may also locate their projects in the private land and for this purpose the land is required to be converted for the industry purpose.
